A Little Different... Google's latest project: The Toyota Prius cars that drive themselves

The car of the future has arrived. Google has successfully road-tested self-driving automobiles. Seven robot-cars, manned by engineers and drivers with spotless records, drove more than 140,000 miles with very little human control, New York Times reports.

The cars drove all over California, including heavily trafficked Hollywood Boulevard and San Francisco’s Lombard Street, known for its tight zig-zag turns, according to the Google blog. Only one accident happened when a Google car was rear-ended while stopped at a traffic light, engineers told New York Times.

The high tech autos are specially designed Toyota Priuses. They look like regular cars, except for a cylinder-shaped sensor, or the vehicle’s “eye,” attached to the roof, according to the Daily Mail. Built-in video cameras, radars, sensors and Google’s map database navigate the cars, the Google blog said. The mobiles, developed by engineers from DARPA, or the research and development office of the U.S. Department of Defense, will supposedly reduce car accidents and carbon emissions, according to the Google blog.

But the cars may be a little too ahead of their time. Although automated vehicles are far from being mass produced, they raise perplexing questions when it comes to driving law, based on the idea of human control. “The technology is ahead of the law in many areas,” Bernard Lu, a senior staff counsel for the California Department of Motor Vehicles, told the New York Times. “If you look at the vehicle code, there are dozens of laws pertaining to the driver of a vehicle, and they all presume to have a human being operating the vehicle.”

Read Blogs via RSS Feed.

The RSS button, usually in orange can be found in almost every blog or browser window next to the address bar. Many newbie will just ignore this wonderful tool just because they don’t really know what does it mean. Here is a simple explanation on the RSS feed.

We only have 24 hours a day, which we need to spend time on our daily routines, accompanying our family members, as well as reading blogs or blogging. We wouldn’t want to waste extra time by checking updates from our favorite blogs one by one – the so called “blog hopping“.

Some people may argue that they prefer blog hopping, visiting their favorite blogs one by one just to check for updates. Some claim that if there isn’t any updates, they will still leave a message in the chat box. The real intention behind the message usually indicate the owner something like “Oh! Hi there, I was here before and hope you can hop over to my blog too.” I used to do that too for a short period of time. It did boost up some traffic. In fact, that’s what most blog hoppers really want. They may not even read your blog content but just leave a “hi hi” message and hoping that you will head back to them. Most of the time, it works.

This may not be one of the best ways to gain blog traffic. I would suggest you to save up the blog hopping time, and make full use of the RSS button by subscribing to your favorite blogs. Maybe you still think that visiting your favorite blogs daily to check for updates manually is better. You won’t have any problems if you are just visiting 10 or 20 blogs per day. What if you have more than 100 favorite blogs just like me?

That sounds impossible for me to visit 100 favorite blogs daily to check for updates, because I still need to spend some time updating my own blogs or deal with other things in real life. And here comes the solution – subscribe to the feed of my favorite blogs.

You will need a feed reader to do so. There are many free feed readers available. Some popular ones are Google Reader, Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, ThunderBird (Mozilla Firefox),  Bloglines, My Yahoo! and such. Choose your favorite feed (RSS) reader and signup for an account. Subscribing to a blog is just as easy as ABC.

New Product Designed to Boost Ranking And Give Businesses More Web Traffic

Google places - Business owners who want more web traffic will soon have a recipe for success.

A new product called IMX Placement Systems has been proven to boost rankings in Google Places in less than a few hours, and many times, it works even faster than that.

Some business owners who have already tested IMX Placement Systems have seen their rankings rise dramatically in less than 30 minutes.

The competition for the top spot in Google Places is Fierce. Google Places includes listings for local businesses, local attractions, neighborhoods, and even public transportation stations.

With so many listings, business owners cannot depend on luck to reach the top of the rankings.

That’s why IMX Placement Systems was created. The new product will formally launch on August 27th, and it promises to get virtually any business listing into the 1 Box, 3 Box, or 7 Box of Google Places.

That means the business will be in either the top search result, in the top 3, or in the top 7 results for its target keyword.

As an added benefit, IMX Placement Systems is capable of getting business to rank at the top of the results for several different keywords.

How important is Google Places?

There are hundreds of millions of Google searches made every day. According to Google, 20% of those searches are related to location.

A higher ranking in Google Places can lead to more traffic, more customers, and more profits.

In Google Places, each business listing is next to a map that shows searchers exactly where the business is located, a description of the business’ services, customer reviews, hours of operation, coupons, and even up-to-the-minute updates right from business owners.

Each business listed in Google Places is organized according to various categories.

For example, if someone is looking for a dentist in Atlanta, all they have to do is type ‘dentist in Atlanta’ into Google, and Google Places will churn out the most relevant results.

IMX Placement Services is not bound by geography; the plan is available for businesses in practically any country in the world.

It’s designed for small businesses, affiliate marketers, and internet marketers who want higher rankings in their local searches and want to stop paying expensive Pay Per Click ad bills.

IMX Placement Systems does not use any ‘black hat’ tactics. The techniques included in the system are all ‘white hat’, so business owners will not have to worry about doing anything that violates Google Places’ Terms of Service.
